One of the few women to rise to the top ranks of the banking industry, Jamie Thorsen was unique among her contemporaries over the course of her 35-year career. As an executive managing director with the Bank of Montreal (doing business as the BMO Financial Group), she broke through the glass ceiling to become the head of foreign exchange trading. Jamie Thorsen also sat on Bank of Montreal/BMO Executive Committee as its only female member.
Since retiring in 2012, Jamie Thorsen has had more time to devote to her various hobbies, which include skiing, running, golfing, and practicing yoga. She also holds advanced scuba diving certification through PADI.
In an effort to give back to the general public, Ms. Thorsen has a long history of supporting educational initiatives. She is a current trustee of Denison University and a former trustee of the Kents Hill School. She has also generously donated to organizations that rescue and care for animals.
